Rain is forecast in eastern and northern UAE from Tuesday to Friday, with highs up to 38°C.
Rain is forecast across parts of the UAE from Tuesday to Friday, with temperatures reaching 38°C and humidity climbing to 90 per cent, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The chance of showers is highest in eastern and northern areas, and fog or mist is possible on several mornings.
Keep an umbrella handy if you're heading to the east coast or northern emirates in the afternoon, and allow extra time on foggy mornings. Daytime heat stays high, so don't pack away the summer clothes yet.
Here is the day-by-day picture based on the NCM outlook reported by Gulf News.
| Day | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | Convective clouds over eastern and northern areas with a chance of rain. Fog alerts in the morning. |
| Wednesday | Fair to partly cloudy. Rain possible in eastern and northern areas. Fog or mist possible early. |
| Thursday | Another chance of afternoon rain in eastern and northern regions. Fog or mist possible in the morning. |
| Friday | Rain-bearing clouds could develop again in the afternoon. Winds may reach 40 km/h, with blowing dust possible. |
| Saturday | Fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective clouds over eastern areas in the afternoon. |
Daytime temperatures stay high for November. Inland areas will see 35°C to 38°C, coastal regions and islands 33°C to 36°C, and the mountains 23°C to 31°C.
The next section looks at how the heat compares across the emirates today.
Emirates 24/7 published the NCM's city-by-city figures for the day. Note that Khaleej Times quotes a wider nationwide range, so treat these as the day's emirate-level readings.
| City | Maximum | Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi | 37°C | 26°C |
| Dubai | 36°C | 27°C |
| Sharjah | 36°C | 23°C |
| Ajman | 35°C | 26°C |
| Umm Al Quwain | 36°C | 20°C |
| Ras Al Khaimah | 35°C | 23°C |
| Fujairah | 34°C | 27°C |
| Al Ain | 36°C | 25°C |
| Liwa | 38°C | 23°C |
Fujairah is the coolest emirate by daytime high. It's also where residents are most likely to catch rain on Tuesday, along with Kalba and Khor Fakkan, where scattered showers are possible.
The NCM attributes the rain chances to an extension of a surface low-pressure system, together with a weak upper-air low-pressure system. That combination helps convective clouds build over the east and north, mostly in the afternoon.
Humidity is the other story. Maximum relative humidity is forecast at 85 per cent in Abu Dhabi and 70 per cent in Dubai today, and levels could reach 90 per cent in coastal and inland areas this week. That sets up fog or mist overnight and into the morning, with Wednesday and Thursday mornings both flagged.
The NCM issued red and yellow alerts for fog on Tuesday morning, warning of reduced visibility as thick fog covers southern parts of the country. Abu Dhabi Police have asked motorists to follow the changing speed limits shown on electronic road signs.
Winds will be light to moderate and occasionally fresh, at 10 to 25 km/h and reaching 35 km/h. On Friday they may rise to 40 km/h, which could kick up dust where cloud activity is present.
At sea, the Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate at times. The Oman Sea stays slight. Emirates 24/7 reports wave heights of up to two feet on shore in the Gulf and up to two feet on shore in the Oman Sea, rising to four and three feet respectively offshore.

Saturday looks calmer, with fair to partly cloudy skies, though a chance of afternoon convective clouds remains over eastern areas. Winds could still reach 35 km/h, with slight seas in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
If you're planning outdoor activities in Fujairah, Kalba, Khor Fakkan or the northern emirates, afternoons are the window to watch. Mornings are the time to take care on the road, especially in Abu Dhabi and southern areas where the fog alerts apply.
